Volunteer Code of Conduct & Disclaimer Volunteering with Book Clubs For Inmates is a position of trust that requires a commitment to the safety and integrity of federal correctional environments.
- Conduct: Volunteers must act with integrity, respect, and professionalism. You must adhere to all protocols established by the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC).
- Confidentiality: Volunteers must maintain the privacy of inmate participants and must not disclose sensitive institutional information.
- Boundaries: Volunteers are prohibited from engaging in personal relationships with inmates outside of the structured book club environment or transporting contraband.
- Disclaimer: BCFI is not liable for the independent actions of volunteers or changes in institutional access dictated by the CSC. Participation is at the volunteer’s own risk.
